UK Student Visa
The UK Student Visa is the primary route for international students enrolling in a full-time course at a licensed UK sponsor institution — covering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, foundation courses, and some further education programmes. To apply, students must hold a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) issued by their institution, and meet the requirements of the UK’s points-based system, which assesses course sponsorship, English language ability, and financial capacity.
Beyond the CAS, applicants need to show sufficient funds to cover tuition and living costs for a defined period, meet the course’s English language requirement, and — depending on nationality — may need to complete a tuberculosis test as part of the application. The visa is generally granted for the length of the course, allows part-time work during term for most students, and connects into the Graduate visa route, giving eligible graduates additional time in the UK to work after completing their studies.

Eligibility and Criteria
Requirements of the UK Student Visa
The UK Student Visa is designed for students with a confirmed offer from a licensed UK sponsor institution. To qualify, applicants generally need to show:
- A valid Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from a licensed sponsor institution
- Compliance with the UK’s points-based system requirements for sponsorship, course level, and financial capacity
- Sufficient financial evidence to cover tuition and living costs for the required period
- English language proficiency meeting the course’s minimum requirement (IELTS, PTE, or equivalent)
- A tuberculosis test result, where required based on nationality
- A clean legal, health, and character record
- Parental or guardian consent and care arrangements in place for students under 18, where applicable
