Overview
Ireland Student Visa (Stamp 2)
Ireland’s Stamp 2 immigration permission allows non-EEA students, including Pakistani nationals, to live in Ireland while pursuing full-time study at a recognised institution offering a course listed on the Interim List of Eligible Programmes (ILEP). Applicants must first secure admission to an ILEP-listed course, then apply for a study visa (where required based on nationality), and register their immigration permission with Irish authorities after arrival.
Beyond admission, applicants need to show sufficient financial capacity to cover tuition and living costs, along with valid private medical insurance. Ireland is a popular destination for Pakistani students partly because of its post-study opportunities — many degree graduates become eligible for Ireland’s Third Level Graduate Programme, which allows an extended stay to seek employment after completing their studies. Students on Stamp 2 permission also generally have defined part-time work rights during term time, with fuller work rights available during scheduled college holidays.
